FileGuard is an utility app focused on recovering deleted media from mobile devices. We published this app on Google Play Store where its grown as a lage-scale consumer app. It have 10lakh+ downloads and more then 57,000 reviews.
The app supports recovery from internal storage and SD cards, along with different media formats such as JPEG, PNG, GIF, MP4, AVI, MOV, MP3, WAV and AAC.
Problems
For many users, the problem is not knowing whether a deleted file can still be recovered. Existing recovery tools can are very cluttered, or difficult to understand.
The goal was to create an app where the recovery process feels straightforward:
Open the app → scan the device → find recoverable files → preview them → recover what you need.
- A recovery app needs to give users enough value during the first interaction to make them trust the product and continue using it.
- The experience therefore had to be simple while still supporting deeper scanning and different types of media.

Solutions
We developed FileGuard as an recovery utility with a clear, task-focused experience.
Deep Scan
We implemented scanning functionality to search storage more pricisly for recoverable files. The app supports both internal storage and SD cards.
Photo Recovery
Just by clicking on the scan button users can scan their device and look for deleted images. The app supports multiple image formats and allows users to preview files before save them into the device.
Video Recovery
The recovery flow was extended beyond photos so users could search for deleted videos as well. Video previews help users identify the right files before restoring them.
Private File Hiding
Not only just recovery, but we have also added private lock functionality. Where the user can select the file and lock it into the private folder, which keeps the file away from casual access, and only unlock it when the user enters the passcode.
