Frequently Asked Questions

Apple doesn't publish revenue or download numbers, so the tool models them from public App Store signals. Downloads are estimated from the app's total rating count (typically 0.5 to 2% of people who download an app leave a rating) and cross-checked against its chart position. Revenue is price multiplied by downloads for paid apps, or a blended in-app purchase and ads lifetime-value estimate for free apps.

They are estimates, not exact figures. That's why every number is shown as a low, mid and high range with a confidence level. Apps with lots of ratings and a chart position get high-confidence estimates; small or new apps get wider ranges. Only the developer and Apple know the real numbers.

Open the app on apps.apple.com in a browser, or in the App Store on your iPhone tap Share and then Copy Link. The link looks like apps.apple.com/us/app/app-name/id310633997. You can paste the whole link or just the number after "id".

Yes. Click "Compare with another app" and add up to 5 apps. You'll get a leaderboard ranking them by estimated downloads and revenue, plus a full report for each app.

Not yet. The checker covers apps on the Apple App Store (iPhone and iPad). If an app is on both stores, paste its App Store link instead.

Ratings, chart rankings and prices are different in every App Store country, and the estimates are built from those signals. Pick the country where the app has most of its users for the most useful estimate.
